Today, the instructor picked up with the lecture and student discussion focusing on the details surrounding Unrestricted Submarine Warfare, the Zimmerman Note Telegram, and Woodrow Wilson's Declaration of War. In addition, the instructor discussed with the students the effects of the Russian Revolution on the balance of power and the initial reparations at the close of Armistice Day (November 11, 1918).
Before the close of the period, the students and the instructor evaluated the intentions and goals of Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points against the causes of World War I (Nationalism, Imperialism, Militarism and Alliances).

WELCOME BACK! Hope you all had a nice winter break...I know I did!
At the start of the class period, the instructor collected any submissions for the Winter Break Extra Credit assignment. Following the collection of those documents, the instructor spent a few minutes reviewing some of the new technologies introduced during World War I (as a review to connect to information from prior to break period).
After the visual review on the new weapon technologies introduced during WWI, the instructor moved ahead discussing the turning point of the war (when the United States was brought into the fight by Germany).
WH Honors Homework: Reading in Chapter 13 (last two sections) and Unit 6 Vocabulary.
