Today, the instructor and the students began their study of the Modern Era. During this week of study (week 1), the students will be examining the issues of the Middle East with concentration on Israel and Palestine, with some focus on the growing problem of terrorist cells in this area of the world.
Today, the students began with a review of past curriculum using the Reading Study Guide Worksheets that accompany the textbook. The students were given an opportunity to work together in the classroom (with the textbook) to answer the background information on the Ottoman Empire and the beginnings of European Occupation (due to oil) and how Terrorism began to develop in this area of the world.
