The instructor returned students' graded notebooks at the beginning of the period...then, the students were given an opportunity to organize their notebook for Unit 8 information (World War II).
While the instructor passed out the Vocabulary and Timeline as well as the PowerPoint notes for the unit, the students were working on answering the following unit focus question in their notebook: If war seemed so unimaginable at the close of World War I, why did countries begin fighting again in 1939?
Following the discussion of the focus question, the instructor began the opening lecture and discussion about the start of World War II (Appeasement and Hitler's Aggression).
