At the start of the period, the students had their first warm-up question for Unit 8. Warm-Up Question #1 was: How did the "Miracle of Dunkirk" affect Great Britain's ability to fight Hitler? Why was the outcome of the Battle of Britain important for the Allied Powers? How might the German attacks on Great Britain have strengthened their resistance movement? EXPLAIN.
Following the warm-up question discussion, the instructor went over the two worksheets from Wednesday's class period (The United States Declares War and American Production in WW2). After going over the worksheets, the instructor spent a few moments talking about Operation Barbarossa in 1941 and the impact of America entering the war after Pearl Harbor (turning of the tide).
