Today, the students began the period with their fourth Warm-up Question for Unit 7 (Nationalism and the Rise of Revolution). Warm-Up Question #4 asked: What political problems did the Weimar Republic (Germany) face in the 1920's? How did the Weimar Republic further contribute to the post-WWI economic problems within Germany? Why did Germany begin to support Hitler in the 1930's? EXPLAIN.
Following the warm-up question, the students and instructor viewed 3 video segments dealing with the totalitarian regimes of Joseph Stalin (Communism) and Benito Mussolini (Fascism). The segments were designed to assist students with their research conclusions and fact findings for their group projects (due February 16, 2010).
